We would advise that, unlike Dean, if you spot the fire slowly dying, you add another couple of logs before resuming your goodbye-ing.

Christmas is about gathering with friends and family. Frank Sinatra knew this when he sung Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. One of our favourite things about woodburners at any time of year is their ability to create a hub of activity (or sometimes a hub of inactivity). Just like in the olden days – or happy golden days of yore, if you prefer – a fireside attracts people in search of warmth, conversation and companionship. Aside from the things we’ve already mentioned, Christmas is also an excellent time for reflection and hitting the reset button. Then as we head into the new year, we can put fresh plans into action in our lives, hopefully feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. As the Christmas standard Winter Wonderland, popularised by Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and many others, has it: “Later on we’ll conspire, as we dream by the fire.” Sit back, let the flames do their dance and start dreaming.
