My stove is check made does this mean I will have trouble finding a baffle plate difficult or should I apply to the shop where I purchased the stove ? ( if/when this requires replacement ) .
Hi Gordon
Yes, or another stockist of that manufacturer.
Thanks,

I have a Nashua woodburning stove I purchased in 1978 they are not in business anymore, I have a hole in my baffle plate. had a welder come out to my house he suggested putting furnace cement in the hole and support it with a t until it dries, will that work
Hi Marie
It would be worth a go, though it might not last in the long-term because the baffle takes a lot of punishment. Perhaps look into having a replica made, too.
Thanks,

A welded patch will work perfectly. You can take the baffle plate to a car body shop, they will weld a patch very cheaply. You can use the stove while the baffle plate is being repaired, but it will be less efficicient.

Hi David
Sorry, that’s not a stove we stock so it would be a total shot in the dark.
Thanks,

I have a Waterford 106 woodstove that I bought in approx. 1980. I have maintained the stove and after that length of time the baffle has deflected about 3 inches in radius towards the front away from the back support of the firebrick. It now has developed a hole. The baffle is about 8 inches front to back and 21 1/4 inches wide. I order a new baffle from Woodsman Parts Plus in New England. It has arrived and measures only 4 5/8 inches front to back. Did Waterford, back in the day, have a larger front to back measurement, then changed it to 4 5/8 inches for performance reasons? It seems from baffle design reasoning that the 8 inch measurement would deflect more heating to the front and create more secondary smoke/heat combustion. Do you have a USA number for Waterford so I can discuss these issues, or you are knowledgeable concerning these matters? Thank you for a reply. Jerry Ward
Hi Jerry, It’s not an appliance with which we’re familiar, unfortunately.
