Meet the manufacturer: Dimplex Stoves

Dimplex Stoves

Dimplex Stoves is the solid fuel appliance branch of Dimplex, which is perhaps best known to most consumers as a manufacturer of electric fires. At Gr8fires we stock both Dimplex electric fires and stoves. In this blog post, we’ll be focusing on the stoves.

The Southampton-based company keeps its solid fuel range limited, which makes it perfect for this whistle-stop guide to the range.

Dimplex Westcott 8kW Multi Fuel Wood Burning Stove

The Westcott is the standard-bearer of Dimplex’s range of stoves. We’re featuring the 8kW version here, but it’s also available in 4kW inset (pictured, top), 4.3kW smoke control exempt, 5kW and 12kW versions. That means that more than half Dimplex’s stoves are in the Westcott design.

At first glance, it’s a traditional stove in appearance. But on closer inspection there is some modern detailing, which arguably comes to the fore most significantly in the aforementioned inset stove. It’s almost understated in its stylishness. Other stoves in the range are more striking with their modern looks. The Westcott is more subtle, but no less attractive.

Dimplex Langbrook 5kW Multi Fuel Wood Burning Stove

Talking of stoves that look modern and stylish, meet the Langbrook, which unashamedly fits the bill on both fronts. If tradition isn’t really your thing or you’re looking for something that makes more of a statement that the average wood-burning stove, this could be the one for you.

Its proportions do owe something to the sort of television you might have had in a room other than your front room in the early 2000s. In the case the must-see action on the sizeable glass front is provided by the flames you’ll see dancing around inside.
